Surrounding the design are engraved patent drawings and print illustrations of many of Alexander Graham Bell's various inventions and ideas. Also included are the issuing state "CANADA" and the year of issue "2022". The reverse features the portrait of Queen Elizabeth II and the denomination "100 DOLLARS". The commemorative coin is

. Born on the 3rd of March in 1847 in Edinburgh, Scotland, Alexander Graham Bell was not only an inventor, but also a eugenicist, audiologist and major entrepreneur. Through his ideas and the further development of the first telephone by Antonio Meucci, Alexander Graham Bell was one of the first people to make money with the telephone. In honor of his personality, the auxiliary unit of reference for marking decadic logarithms was named after him. The Bel unit can be used to measure electrical voltages, power and sound levels.
