DescriptionPeace Dollar - Lady Peace - 20255 Oz Silver - Proof New Design - First Full View of Lady Peace99.99% pure Silver Mintage only 2,000 pieces With Certificate of Authenticity Delivery in original Box from the Royal Canadian Mint With this 2025 Peace Dollar coin made of five ounces of 99.99% pure silver, the Royal Canadian Mint commemorates the shared vision of peace and freedom. The freshly designed obverse of the Peace Dollar differs significantly from the close-ups seen in previous designs. The newly designed obverse, created by retired engraver Susan Taylor, features for the first time a full portrait of Lady Peace positioned on a stretch of coastline. This allegorical depiction is supported by motifs of maple leaves, while maple leaf-shaped rays of light refract through the clouds. Together, this creative combination of elements conveys a message of hope for peace, today and in the future. On the reverse is the effigy of King Charles III. The inscriptions “CHARLES III”, “CANADA”, “D.G.REX” and the face value “50 DOLLARS” are also included in the design. The mintage of this issue is limited to 2,000 pieces worldwide. More than 100 years ago - in 1921 - the first Peace Dollar was minted by the US Mint to commemorate peace after the First World War. Canadian Foreign Minister Lester B. Pearson finally organized the first UN peacekeeping force in 1957. This and his other efforts not only earned him the Nobel Peace Prize - they also helped to cement Canada's reputation as a peacekeeping and peace-loving nation. The limited edition Peace Dollar silver coin in proof quality is delivered in its original box and includes a certificate of authenticity from the Royal Canadian Mint.
