This is the first-generation portrait of Charles III to feature on Canadian coins and was designed for the Royal Canadian Mint. This left-profile relief was created by Steven Rosati.
In the reverse design of 2025 Proof Canadian Silver Lunar Year of the Snake Coins, artist Jai Paek offers a folk-art-inspired depiction of a snake. The design includes a coiled snake with orchid flowers and branches, a symbol of luck associated with the snake. The body of the snake is also coiled into the shape of the number 8, the luckiest number in Chinese culture.
In Chinese culture, the Snake is often associated with intelligence, intuition, and elegance.
