An intricate sculpture of a muscular bighorn sheep (Ovis canadensis) emerges from the flat surface of this coin to give it a multi-dimensional look and feel. The bighorn sheep rises up from the coin's silver surface, its authority unchallenged as it stands poised on a rocky outcrop and surveys its surroundings. Enhanced by opulent gold plating, the silver-cast sculpture truly shines thanks to the outstanding amount of detail - including the textured appearance of the bighorn's pelage, and the rings that line the ram's spiralled horns. The reverse was designed by Canadian big game sculptor Karl Lansing, your coin represents a sculptural celebration of a Canadian icon. The coin's large 65 mm diameter provides the perfect pedestal for the gold-plated silver sheep-shaped embellishment emerging from the coin! Despite its unusual shape, the coin is safely protected inside a dome-like capsule that protects it from the elements. It is encapsulated and housed in a wooden display case with a black beauty box.
