Gold ducat Baby and Christening 2014 with dedication proof | Czech Mint
The Mint says about this coin:
A lovely gift for babies and their mothers Gold baby and christening ducat tops the series of medals marking the most significant moments in life. With this ducat, Czech Mint continues in the old tradition of St. Wenceslas’ ducats that were given in the past to babies in cradles by grandparents and godfathers. Even in poor families, a baby received gold coins – to prevent them from poverty. The baby who is given a ducat as a gift is receiving a talisman to have his/her future steps guided by a lucky star. The main motif on the obverse side of the 2014 gold ducat is a sleeping baby and stars. The legend in circumscription reads “Dukát k narození dítěte 2014“ (Baby and Christening Ducat 2013). The reverse side features a central field left empty for the engraving of an individual dedication according to the wish of the buyer. A ribbon forming the shape of a heart delimits the field. Would you like to exchange a standard case for a decorative one? Now you can do it free of charge! After you enter a requirement for dedication and place the selected item in the shopping cart, click on “Choose a case“.
