Slovak gold wedding ducat 2022 with dedication proof | Czech Mint
The Mint says about this coin:
Product description The gold wedding ducat of the Czech Mint in the Slovak version is a tasteful gift for newlyweds, which combines original symbolism, the value of the precious metal and emotional value in the form of an engraved dedication. Coins have always been a symbol of wealth, prosperity and security, when they were still made of precious metals and had no paper or plastic equivalent. Therefore, it is not surprising that they played an important role in the wedding rituals of our ancestors. The oldest coins found on Czech territory are gold staters, popularly known as rainbow cups, used by the Celts. Unlike their Roman contemporaries, Celtic women had almost equal status with their men and the wedding coin was meant to symbolise the couple's willingness to share everything they had. In many countries around the world, the precious metal penny is still a wish for happiness and best wishes to both newlyweds. This is also the new gold ducat of the Czech Mint for 2022. Its author is the medal maker Lenka Nebeská, DiS. She has dedicated the obverse side to a sophisticated composition consisting of the Slovak inscription SVADOBNÝ DUKÁT and two pairs of hearts connected by axes with a decorative ribbon intertwined between them. The ribbon interwoven with flowers also appears on the reverse side of the ducat, where it defines the space for engraving a personal dedication or other text according to your wishes in 3 lines of 10 characters including spaces. A hearty dedication can also be inscribed on the certificate of authenticity that is placed together with the ducat in the gift box.
