Silver medal to the18th anniversary of Czech Mint & 100. anniversary of Jablonec Dam proof Czech Mint was founded on 1 July 1993 after the split of Czechoslovakia into two independent states. Since its establishment, it has been the exclusive supplier of circulation coins (Czech crowns) and commemorative coins for the Czech National Bank. In addition to this it has developed its own production of medals, coin replicas, tokens and pendants. The main motif on the obverse side of the medal is number “18“ – in proof quality. Figure “8“ consists symbolically of two circles representing coins and medals. Polished fields of the circles are not at the same level and the depth of the relief is below the level of the coin field. Figure “1“ and a circle with Czech Mint’s new logo are placed at the same level as the field. Text “18. výročí České mincovny“ (18th anniversary of Czech Mint) spreads around the rim of the medal, and dates marking the anniversary are arranged in two lines. Sign of the author, the assay mark and the mintmark are also featured on this side.Czech Mint is located in Jablonec nad Nisou in close proximity of a locally well-known dam whose 100th anniversary was chosen as the motif for the reverse side of the medal. The dam at the Nisa river is the largest intracity body of water in central Europe. The shining surface of the Jablonec dam and two smaller water basins which are part of the dam complex are in the centre of the composition on the reverse side. The dam is depicted as if viewed from above to show part of the environs and indicate that the dam is part of town. The town is represented by its coat-of-arms in polished field and by spires of the townhall and the church on the Upper square placed diagonally below. The text in circumscription reads “100 let jablonecké přehrady“ (i.e. 100 years of the Jablonec dam).Limited edition 500 pieces. More Less
