Product description The beauty of our banknotes is admired not only by the notaphilist - patriots. The Czech currency has an exceptional position compared with a global competitors. Many great artists have contributed to their fame, among which is the name Oldřich Kulhánek. In a series of a masterpieces of the "offspring" of the famous painter, the graphic artist and illustrator, clearly belongs the historically last Fifty CZK banknote, which the author dedicated to a radiant personality of a national history - St. Agnes of Bohemia. Although this banknote is not in circulation since 2011, the Czech Mint recalls its extraordinary artistic value through the gorgeous medal in pure silver in the series of the Themes of Banknotes by Oldřich Kulhánek. The journey of St. Agnes of Bohemia portrayed on the Czech fifty banknote was not easy. Canonized in 1989, by Pope John Paul II., the daughter of King Premysl Otakar I, gained her nominal value in 1993. It became necessary to replace the three Slovak personalities on the paper currency; Hviezdoslav, Štúr and Pribina, after the federation. These banknotes thus finally gave way to female representation. The well-known graphic designer and illustrator Oldřich Kulhánek also portrayed on the the bank note, alongside St. Agnes of Bohemia, the singer Ema Destin and also the writer Božena Němcová. Whilst the operatic diva and the author of fairy tales are still on this Czech means of payment today, the fifty bank note with the image of St. Agnes of Bohemia is only adorning the collectors collection. The dominating feature of the obverse of this silver mintage is a charismatic portrait of the saint, along with an inscriptions SVATÁ ANEŽKA ČESKÁ (St. Agnes of Bohemia), OLDŘICH KULHÁNEK and with the number 50, which indicates the nominal of the banknote, which have been a model for the creation of the medal. The difficult task of converting the theme of the bank note into a circular shape mintage, took the very talented graphic designer MgA. Klára Melichová, the daughter of Oldřich Kulhánek. The embossed form was then imprinted by academic sculptor Vladimír Oppl. Both artists have provided the reverse with the detail, reproduced from the reverse side of the bank note - a letter A, decorated with a several interesting symbols.
