Silver medal Plzeň – City of Champions 2013 proof | Czech Mint The Mint says about this coin: Medal commemorating the “Pilsner double“ Czech Mint has issued commemorative silver medals and tokens devoted to the “Pilsner double“, i.e. the football club FK Viktoria Plzeň and the hockey club HC Škoda Plzeň. For the first time they were presented to the public at this year’s Pilsner Fest on Saturday 5 October in the Pilsner Urquell brewery complex. The “Pilsner double“ means a lot in the Czech Republic. No regional team has ever before managed to win two most precious trophies in the highest competitions (football and hockey) in the history of both league competitions in one season. That’s why Czech Mint has prepared commemoration of this event in cooperation with both clubs and the Plzeň City Council. The obverse side of medals features logo of both teams and silhouettes of their fans. The coat-of-arms of the town of Plzeň is depicted on the reverse side. Limited edition 250 pcs More Less | ||||||
