Advent time and Christmas are accompanied by symbols which are now part of our tradition. One of the oldest and most beautiful Christmas symbols are cribs, or Nativity scenes. Tiny figures of the saint family, shepherds and animals surrounding the crib with the baby and three wise men bringing royal presents to the child remind us of the birthplace and the story of the birth of Jesus Christ. A Bethlehem star shines above each such Nativity scene. The obverse side of the medal features a composition of Christmas stars, in the centre with a colour glass bead.
