Czech 10-ducat 2010 Art Nouveau proof The obverse side of the medal features a detail of the statue “Melancholic Girl“ created by Jan Štursa in 1906. The “Melancholic Girl“ is the purest example of Art Nouveau in Czech sculpture where the sculptor expressed the art-nouveau symbolic curve in the overall composition of the statue. Jan Štursa (1880-1925) created many stately monuments and portraits. His work was influenced by Art Nouveau symbolism and neo-Classicism and, later on, Cubism.A round garland of lime-tree leaves in the middle with the Czech lion decorates the reverse side of the medal.Limited edition of 200 pieces.
