Two-ducat CR 2015 National anthem proof | Czech Mint
The Mint says about this coin:
Product description With its new ducat series CR 2015 – Czech statehood Czech Mint brings again artistically valuable pieces to numismatic collections and opens another imposing theme of new mintages. The two-ducat which is dedicated to the Czech anthem follows after the one-ducat with the motif of the national tree. The set of four gold medals in proof quality continues with the five-ducat depicting the state flag and ten-ducat featuring heraldic animals. The edition of each of them is limited, and it is wise not to hesitate with the purchase and embellish your collections! The Czech anthem Kde domov můj (Where is my home) was originally written by playwright Josef Kajetán Tyl and composer František Škroup for the comedy Fidlovačka aneb Žádný hněv a žádná rvačka that was first staged in Prague on 21 December 1834. The motif of the state anthem was expressed with an impressive collage on the obverse of the medal by academic sculptor Michal Vitanovský. The reverse created by the same designer is dominated by coats of arms of the three Czech lands – Bohemia, Moravia and Silesia. The splendid medals in the ducat series CR 2015 – Czech statehood – should not be missing in any pampered numismatic collection. They are however also an invitation to invest in gold – which is, thanks to the current favourable prices of precious metals, a clever move.
