200-crown silver coin First public flight of Jan Kašpar proof | Czech Mint

The Mint says about this coin:

200-crown silver coin First public flight of Jan Kašpar proof 200-crown silver coin commemorating the 100th anniversary of the first long-distance flight in Bohemia was issued by the Czech National Bank on 27 April 2011.The design of the second of four 200-crown coins issued in 2011 was created by Josef Šafařík – winner of a country-wide anonymous design competition declared by the Czech National Bank. The first long-distance flight from Pardubice to Prague took place on 13 May 1911 and the pilot’s name was Jan Kašpar.Coins were struck for CNB by Czech Mint from silver of 0.925 fineness in standard and proof qualities which differ by the surface finish and the edge. Proof coins have a highly polished field and matted relief, and the edge is smooth, while the edge of standard coins is dented. The diameter of coins measures 31mm, they weigh 13g and are 2.35mm thick. The obverse side of the 200-crown coin depicts in the middle Jan Kašpar’s aircraft flying above the town of Pardubice with its dominating Green Gate, in the upper part we can see the contours of the Prague Castle with clouds. The text in circumscription above the aircraft reads “ČESKÁ REPUBLIKA“ (Czech Republic) in negative type face. The designation of the coin’s nominal value “200 Kč“ is integrated in the motif above the Pardubice outline, whereas Czech Mint’s mintmark is placed in its middle. The dominating feature on the reverse side is a central composition of an aircraft propeller in motion. The text at the rim of the coin says “PRVNÍ DÁLKOVÝ LET JANA KAŠPARA“ (The first long-distance flight of Jan Kašpar). The years “1911“ and “2011“ in negative type face are placed between the text at the rim and the propeller. Initials of the author of the 200-crown coin Josef Šafařík can be found below the right part of the propeller.A blue colour catalogue card is supplied with each coin containing description of the coin and its plastic picture.
