100th anniversary of birth of the most famous Czech football player Commemorative silver coin designed by creative artist MgA Petr Horák marking the 100th anniversary of birth of football player Pepa Bican. Josef Bican was a Czech-Austrian football player who played in the highest Czech football competitions, and later became a football trainer. He scored 644 times in the big league and is a member of the “Klub ligových kanonýrů“ (Big League Goal Scorers Club). For most of his career Bican represented Slavia Praha football club. Josef was born to a Czech family in Vienna. He was a very talented football player and in his youth he played in the Austrian national team. In 1934 he became the best goal scorer of the Austrian league playing for Rapid Vienna. Then he changed Rapid for Admira Vienna and in 1937 left the latter for Slavia Praha. In 1938 Slavia won the Central European Football Cup and Bican was the team’s best goal scorer. The obverse side features the motif of a football player in motion, in the background with symbols of Slavia sports club, in the lower part we can read the following text: Česká republika 200 Kč.
