This coin is part of the Mongolian Wildlife Protection series. This immensely popular series started in 2007 with the then revolutionary and innovative Gulo Gulo coin. Three years later, CIT presented the successor Ural Owl and subsequent issues have been launched annually ever since. The frontal portrait in an antique finish relief and the piercing Swarovski crystal eyes have become the trademark of the collection.
Wild Boar – Sus scrofa – CIT Coin Invest AG The Mint says about this coin:
One of the most iconic CIT collections is the Mongolian Wildlife Protection series launched in 2007. Eleven years and several awards later, the ninth installment of the collection portrays the wild boar (Sus scrofa) with mesmerizing amber-colored SWAROVSKI® crystal eyes that collectors of the series have come to cherish. The design is once again struck in smartminting© high relief and thus represents a perfect blend of high-end minting technology and traditional sculpting craft. Not many coin series span successfully over a decade. Mongolian Wildlife Protection, however, has been a collector’s favorite at the World Money Fair in Berlin throughout the years and will continue to impress and inspire until its tenth and final release in 2019. The Sus scrofa thus presents the penultimate issue of the series and will surely be a sought after collectible. more CIT Item ID: 28359 Country: Mongolia Date of issue: 2018 Denomination: 500 Togrog Material: Silver .999 Quality: Antique finish Mintage: 2500 Technique: smartminting® |
