This coin is part of the "Evolution of Life" collection.
The series features select fossils from various geologic periods, in one large silver and one small gold format. Each silver issue shows a rose-gold plated fossil, typical of the respective geological period, partially excavated on an antique finish rock matrix background. The gold coin motifs mirror those of the larger silver coins, if in reduced complexity and design. Instead of a partially excavated fossil on a rock matrix background, the little coins show the isolated fossil on a proof surface with English name, year of issue and series name. Despite their small size, the minting is incredibly rich in detail.
Sinraptor – Evolution of Life – CIT Coin Invest AG The Mint says about this coin:
This year’s ANA release out of our Evolution of Life series can be considered as a "new" dinosaur as the Sinraptor was officially discovered only 32 years ago in China with an almost complete skeleton. The name Sinraptor comes from the Latin prefix "Sino" meaning Chinese and "Raptor" meaning robber. The fossil discovered in China measures 3 m in height and 7.5 m in length. Sinraptor was estimated to have weighed over a ton! A 150 million years ago the Sinraptor may have hunted other medium sized dinosaurs. This prehistoric killer is now featured on this impressively detailed smartminting© high relief coin. It is plated in rose gold on an antique finish rock matrix background. All previous releases of this series are already sold out and like the others, we expect this one to go extinct as well! This 1 oz silver coin has a diameter of 38.61 mm and is limited to 999 pieces. more CIT Item ID: 29005 Country: Mongolia Date of issue: 2019 Denomination: 500 Togrog Material: Silver .999 Quality: Antique finish Mintage: 999 Technique: smartminting® (High Relief) |
