Product description The Czech Mint commemorates the second presidential period of T. G. Masaryk on the third gold coin from the miniseries The year 1920. The first Czechoslovak presidential election that took place in 1918 was not real - Tomáš Garrigue Masaryk was inducted by general consent of the Revolutionary National Assembly into Prague Castle. The dignified president provided the young republic with prestige, reputation and respect in order to survive in a rapidly changing world. Therefore, Masaryk was elected to office for the second time - this time thanks to real election in 1920. The president came in an open car which he considered a "new and democratic means of transport." A man who had been a devoted member of Sokol since the age of thirteen rode the horse called Hektor to the All-Sokol Rally. In addition to sports activities, he supported the building of an army according to the Czechoslovak legions, the activities of the Czechoslovak Red Cross and Zionism, the aim of which was to create a Jewish state. Masaryk lost a number of close friends who supported him during this time. Milan Rastislav Štefánik died under mysterious circumstances in 1919, and Alois Rašín was assassinated in 1923. Masaryk overcame a serious illness, but he lost his beloved wife Charlotte in 1923. Her role as "first lady" was conscientiously taken over by her daughter Alice, and the president could rely on the loyal Minister of External Affairs Edvard Beneš in politics. Masaryk's second term ended in 1927, but he was elected to the office in which he spent a seventeen years twice more… The reverse side of the coin was processed by academic sculptor Zbyněk Fojtů. It is dominated by a charismatic portrait of the president with iconic glasses, a characteristic hat and tie. The portrait and inscription TOMÁŠ GARRIGUE MASARYK 1920 are separated by the tricolor, which pervades the entire miniseries and also appears on the obverse side, where it is accompanied by linden branches. Since the coins of the Czech Mint are published with the license of a foreign issuer, which is the island of Niue, their obverse side still bears its necessary attributes - the portrait and the name of Queen Elizabeth II, the nominal value of 10 DOLLARS (NZD) and the year of the issue 2020.
