The Mint says about this coin:
The Oddities of Nature series of silver .925 coins features the strangest animals and plants on earth. The Flying frog coin is the fourth square-shaped issue of this extraordinary series drawing attention of everyone whether a collector or someone looking for an unusual gift. Depicted on the obverse of this Niue coin, there is an effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. There are also the inscriptions of the Queen’s name and the year of the coin’s mintage. The lower part of the silver coin comprises the legends indicating the name of the issuing country and the coin’s face value. The reverse design features an image of the Flying frog, a shining green, big-eyed creature of the tropical forests of Java, Borneo and neighboring lands. This odd creature can boast the ability of flying, and, more precisely, gliding over considerable distances. How is it possible? The Flying frog takes a great leap and, spreading wide the long, webbed fingers and toes, flies a few meters through the air to a leafy landing in the next tree. At the bottom of the coin, there is the inscription of the Latin name of the frog. Material: 925 Date of issue: 2011 Weight: 28.28 Comes with Certificate of Authenticity.
