The Mint says about this coin:
The edge of the XIX and XX centuries is extremely exciting due to the hundreds of painters who created exceptional works. One of such painters was Alphonse Mucha, a representative of Art Nouveau movement, who gained his fame for creating images of women in a very particular style. In 2011, the world of art was celebrating his 150th anniversary, and the island of Niue issued a series of coins called A.Mucha's Zodiac dedicated to this date. The Leo coin is minted in 10.000 copies, each made of perfect .925 silver. The obverse side is the same for all coins in the Zodiac series. It has a small profile of Her Majesty Elizabeth II in the center and two circles surrounding the royal effigy. The first circle contains the legends denoting the year and the country of issue, the name of Niue's official head and the denomination of the coin. The other circle has images of 12 zodiacal signs, reproducing the horoscope depicted by A.Mucha in 1896. The reverse side of Leo shows a full-color replica of The Blonde painted by the maser. It shows a delicate profile of a beautiful lady wearing sophisticated finery. The background of the image has fine silver ornaments that reinforce the air of Mucha's paintings. The only semiabstract inscription on the reverse reads the name of the coin. Finally, there is also a small emblem of the Leo sign painted by the master in his Zodiac.
