The Mint says about this coin:
The signs of zodiac are what unites us with the magic of the space. Every constellation representing a sign appears over the nightly horizon in turn, and stays there for only a couple of months. Many painters had their visions on the horoscope, but the work by Alphonse Mucha dated 1896 is specially beautiful. That is one of the reasons why it became the central topic of the coin series dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the master, which was celebrated in 2011. The island of Niue issued 12 coins, each made of high-quality .925 silver and minted in 10.000 copies. The obverse side of the coins is very interesting, as the classical royal mint of Niue was accomplished with a particular element – a horoscope circle that depicts the reproductions of the signs pained by A.Mucha. This side of the coin also has legends explaining the year of issue, the territory that minted the coins, the name of the regent and the face value, which is $1, by the way. The reverse side of all coins issued in this series has images of women praised in different works of the master. The Taurus coin depicts a tender girl with an extremely beautiful hairstyle and a soft red flower in her hand. The overall image also includes perfectly minted ornaments and a small circle with the emblem of Taurus, just the way it was represented in the Zodiac by Mucha. The only word you see on the reverse of this coin stands for the name of this numismatic masterpiece. Material: 925 Date of issue: 2011 Weight: 28.28 Comes with Certificate of Authenticity.
