The Mint says about this coin:
The mystery of zodiacal signs has been fascinating people since very ancient times, and these secrets were praised by famous painters since long ago. One of such painters was a famous Czech master A.Mucha. In 2011, when the world was celebrating his 150th anniversary, the Niue island issued a series of coins to commemorate the famous Zodiac work by this painter. Virgo is surely one of the most exciting coins representing the series. The obverse of the coin perfectly reflects the delicacy of proof mints on great .925 silver. This side of the coin is rather interesting for numismatists, as it has not only the traditional royal mint of Niue, but also a circle of 12 zodiacal signs reproducing the famous painting by Alphonse Mucha. Placed between the effigy of Queen Elizabeth and the horoscope is a range of inscriptions that explain the name of the territory, where the coin serves as legal tender, the name of Niue's queen, the year of issue and the face value. The total mintage of the coin is 10.000 pieces, and each of them has a very particular image on the reverse. This side of the coin shows a charming lady with small pink flowers entwined into her red hair. The background of all coins in the series has different ornaments that underline the particular style characteristic of A.Mucha. The only word on this side stands for the name of the coin. Also, there is a small icon of Virgo sign painted in the renowned Zodiac picture by Mucha. Material: 925 Date of issue: 2011 Weight: 28.28 Comes with Certificate of Authenticity.
