The Mint says about this coin:
The new Tropical Fish series presented by the Pacific island of Niue consists of three silver proof coins dedicated to the beautiful Royal Blue Tang, Royal Gramma and Guineafowl Pufferfish. This .925 silver coin captures an extraordinary Pufferfish that is famous for its ability to puff up like a ball when threatened. The obverse of this rectangular Niue coin bears the effigy of Her Majesty Elizabeth II. The inscriptions surrounding the portrait include the Queen’s name, the name of the issuing country, the face value of the coin and its issuing year. The reverse of the silver coin is truly eye-catching. The colorful image depicts the Guineafowl Pufferfish with reef coral engraving in the background. Found across the entire Indo-Pacific from East Africa to western South America, it comes in a variety of colors, primarily black with white spots. The defensive ability of a pufferfish allows it to take in water in order to expand its body transforming into a large, prickly, inconsumable orb. The inscriptions on the reverse also include the name of the coin and that of the series. This Pufferfish coin comes housed in a custom mold box reminiscent of an aquarium that features a liquid filled lid with an air bubble. A nice addition to your marine life coin collection!
