Archangel Raphael

. The motive of the rectangular coin in color shows a depiction of the Archangel as seen on a glass window in Hull Minster, Great Britain. The image dates from 1920 and was created by Mary Hutchinson.

Raphael

is considered to be the

Archangel of healing

and therefore also the patron saint of the sick and the pharmacists. On pilgrimages, on which he accompanied Tobias, he not only healed wounds, but also enabled healing relationships. Because of these journeys, he is often depicted in art history with a pilgrim's staff, which is also included in the design of the coin.
