The Mint says about this coin:
The stunning set under the title "Villa of Mysteries in Pompeii" consists of nine silver proof Niue coins making up a complete colored image replicating that located in the Villa of the Mysteries, northwest of Pompeii, southern Italy. These .999 silver bars of different size come set between two sheets of thick, archival quality Perspex housed in a luxurious wooden presentation case. The obverse side of each coin bears the effigy of Her Majesty Elizabeth II surrounded by the inscriptions denoting the Queen’s name, the name of the issuing country as well as the issuing year. The face value of the coins and metal fineness are also indicated on the obverse. The spectacular reverse design of silver unit features the reproduction of one of the most important decorative fresco collections in the Roman world adorning the walls of the Villa of the Mysteries just outside of ancient Pompeii. On 24th of August, 79 CE, Mount Visuvious erupted and destroyed the Roman cities of Pompeii and Herculanaeum covering the houses and the people in them with the molten lava. Herculanaeam was rediscovered in 1738 and Pompeii in 1748.
