Perfection in Art is a brand new series of magnificent coins that replaces the popular Masterpieces of Art – Christmas Edition. The first coin – Madonna of the Magnificat – is made of 2 oz silver .999 proof-like and boasts plenty of decorations. Together with high relief and gilded frame, the coin impresses with shining colors! The worldwide mintage is limited to 1 000 pieces. The painting from the Italian Renaissance painter Sandro Botticelli portrays the Virgin Maria crowned by two angels while she is writing the opening of the Magnificat. Botticelli created his Madonna del Magnificat in the early 1480s. The painting was lavishly covered with gold paintand it contains nearly life-size figures. In no other painting did Botticelli employ so much gold as in this one, using it for the ornamentation of the robes, for the divine rays, and for Mary's crown, and even utilizing it to heighten the hair color of Mary and the angels. The high relief frame that surrounds the painting is a real masterpiece of modern minting. Different gold plating technologies let the frame shine in various ways! Surrounded by this very special frame, the painting is printed in the newest technology of digital printing.
