The famous Shaolin Temple in China is one of the wellsprings of historical martial arts, the source of a Chinese proverb that attributes “all martial arts Under Heaven” to this Buddhist monastery. Its history goes back to at least the 5th century when the earliest forms of kung fu were practiced as exercises by Taoist disciples. It evolved a prescribed set of actions and stances based both on keen observation of human anatomy and physiology, combined with the emulation of examples of grace and power from animals in nature that gave rise to a number of different styles. The Crane style of Shaolin Kung Fu is celebrated on the 2022 2 oz Antique Niue Silver Shaolin Kung Fu Crane Martial Arts Style Coin, now available from JM Bullion.

Even in the modern day, it is a place of pilgrimage and tourism for everyone from celebrities to eminent monks, political figures, and international Buddhist disciples.
The 2022 Antique Niue Silver Shaolin Kung Fu Crane Martial Arts Style Coin features high-relief artwork with a lustrous antique finish. It ships fully insured against loss or damage and comes inside a secure mint capsule within a wooden presentation box. Each coin comes with its own Certificate of Authenticity.
The obverse side features images of the Shaolin Temple and four of its associated mythic animals that gave birth to their own style of Kung Fu, with an effigy of Queen Elizabeth II above. This is surrounded by the inscriptions “ELIZABETH II,” “NIUE 2022,” and “5 Dollars 2 OZ Ag .999.”
The reverse side features a monk practicing Crane Style Kung Fu, with cranes as the backdrop, the largest of which features a Swarovski crystal inset for its eye. Chinese characters with selective gilded decoration appear next to him.
