Product description Few people realize that they do not have to climb the rope of the world to enjoy unique natural beauties. Just go to our eastern neighbors. The proof is the gold commemorative coin dedicated to the caves of the Slovak Karst. The territory of the Slovak Karst is situated in the southeastern part of Slovakia, at the Hungarian border, and is shaped like five limestone plains separated by deep valleys and canyons. The flat surface of these platforms is quite deserted - covered by vast steppe meadows and shrubs with hundreds of holes and chasms. There is drought here and a water or signs of human presence you will not find. So why does this boring landscape becomes an UNESCO reservation and one of the most remarkable national parks in Europe? For the answer, you have to go to the underground, where a complex of more than 1300 caves is spreading. The most famous of them is Domica, which is distinguished by its unique stalactite decoration, and at the same time it is a proof of settlement from the earlier Stone Age 4,000 years ago. The system of this cave is more than 21 kilometers long and is so extensive that it continues on the territory of Hungarian Aggtelek Karst. Silická ľadnica Cave has a remarkable perennial ice decoration, Gombasecka cave stands out for up to 3 meters long karst straws, Ochtinská cave is full of aragonite crystals and we can continue this way for a long time. Each cave is unique ... The reverse side of the coin symbolically represents the essence of the process of the formation of karst caves - a drop of water flowing from a stalagmite falls on the surface of the pond. Niphargus aggtelekiensis - a "cave-like creeper" - a small white rake that shows that the Slovak Karst offers much more than non-living nature, is surrounded by circles on the surface. The rebellion is dominated by the largest stalactite stalagmund in Central Europe - a 33-meter-high column named Krápník rožňavských caves - around which the bat is flying. The composition of both sides of the coin, which is a work of Mgr. art. Roman Lugár, finishes the Slovak national emblem, the nominal value of 100 EURO and the descriptions of SLOVAKIA 2017, JASKYNE SLOVENSKÉ KRASU and WORLD NATURAL HERITAGE.
