Coin | Gold Half Gram 2021 Shades of Gold - Koala: Finest Gold |
---|
|
Apart from its regular circulating coinage, Solomon Islands has authorised a number of mints to issue collector coins in precious metals, which are legal tender in the country but are not intended for general circulation. Some of them are in the half gram of gold mini-coin format (abbreviated as 0.5g Au, where "Au" comes from the Latin word for gold, Aurum). These are usually dedicated to historical or general popular culture themes not related to the country itself.
This coin is one of three issued in a "Shades of Gold" set, each featuring a cuddly koala and each made from a different gold alloy. This particular coin is made of finest gold: 99.999% pure. |
