Tokelau, known previously as the Tokelau Islands, is a dependent territory of New Zealand in the southern Pacific Ocean. It uses the New Zealand Dollar as circulation currency, but has been issuing a variety of non-circulating coins since 1978, and has also authorised some foreign mints to issue bullion coins under its jurisdiction - including in the internationally popular silver ounce format.

This coin is the fifth and final release in the Untamed Landscapes by ABC Mint, and features the Sailfish.

The mint says about it:
The Exclusive Untamed Landscapes coin collection takes its inspiration from the rich landscape and fauna of Oceania. Each coin features a unique species from an Oceanic country and communicates the rarity of these untamed environments.

The fastest fish of the Oceanic, the sailfish can reach speeds of 110 kilometers per hour. Their impressive size and spirited flight make them an iconic favourite for trophy fisherman.

This limited-edition 1 troy ounce, bullion coin features 99.99% Australian mined silver which has been responsibly and ethically sourced by LBMA-accredited ABC Refinery.

The obverse of the coin displays the bust of King Charles III, which depicts him bare-headed (uncrowned) and wearing a suit and tie, facing left.

Below the shoulder truncation in tiny letters, the artist's initials DT (for Dan Thorne).

Around, the monarch's legend and the face value of the coin: CHARLES III · TOKELAU · 5 DOLLARS · 2025 ·.

The inscription is in a large ring patterned with microdots.

The reverse of the coin depicts the spirited sailfish with its characteristically large dorsal fin known as the sail leaping from the ocean.
