This is the final coin in the Polar Babies series and features the adorable sea otter. Sea otters give birth in the water and pups stay with their mothers for the first eight months of their lives, learning to swim when they are about four weeks old. They are one of the few mammals other than primates that are known to use tools to eat, using small rocks and other similar objects to hammer open shellfish. Proof Quality 99.99% Pure Silver Each coin is struck from 1/2oz of 99.99% pure silver in proof quality. Sea Otter Colour Design The coin’s reverse features a sea otter pup sitting on the ice. The inscription SEA OTTER, and The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark also appear in the design.
