Information about legend: REPUBLIC OF CHAD

This legend is displayed on some of the coins issued by the Republic of Chad. The coins are denominated in Central African CFA Francs and are legal tender in all countries of the Economic and Monetary Community of Central Africa (CEMAC; Communauté Économique et Monétaire de l'Afrique Centrale): Cameroon, Central African Republic, Chad, Republic of the Congo, Equatorial Guinea and Gabon.

Normally, the legend on the coinage of Chad is in French. English is used on bullion or commemorative coins issued for foreign collectors, and not for circulation within the country.
