Hamburgische Münze: List of Coins Minted (Page 7 of 7)

Hamburgische Münze (834 - )

The Hamburgische Münze is a European coin mint located in the city of Hamburg. It is one of the four German coin mints.

As a result of Hamburg’s membership of the association of Hanseatic cities and their currency agreements, the Hamburg Mint has had an important part to play in the long and chequered history of German minting. The earliest coins minted by the Hamburgische Münze are dated 834, making it the oldest mint in Germany currently in operation.

Since 1875, all coins minted at the Hamburgische Münze have had a "J" mark stamped on them for tracing purposes.
