Albert Walch (10 October 1816 - 1882)

Albert Walch was a German/Swiss painter born in Augsburg, Germany. His designs featuring Helvetia, the female personification of the Confederation of Switzerland, were used on the first Swiss Franc coins (the Half Franc denomination, engraved by Antoine Bovy) as well as on the first Swiss banknotes.
