Pedro V Ntivila a Nkanga of the House of Kimpanzu was Manikongo (king) of Kongo who ruled for a short time between September 1763 and early 1764. He ruled in a period of "rotating lineages", which was a plan reportedly devised by Pedro IV of Kongo. Later rulers seem to have considered him an usurper, as the next king with the same name numbered himself Pedro V too - a tradition upheld by subsequent kings and claimants named Pedro who all ignored this Pedro V. |
