Reccared I (or Recared; Latin: Reccaredus; Gothic: RekkareÞ; Spanish: Recaredo) was Visigothic King of Hispania and Septimania. His reign marked a climactic shift in history, with the king's renunciation of Arianism in favour of Catholicism in 587.
