Oliver Cromwell (25 April 1599 – 3 September 1658) was an English military and political leader and later Lord Protector of the Commonwealth of England, Scotland and Ireland.
The official style of Oliver Cromwell was:
"Captain-General and Commander-in-Chief of all the armies and forces raised and to be raised within the Commonwealth of England" (1650 – 1653), then:
"By the Grace of God and of the Republic, Lord Protector of the Commonwealth of England, Scotland and Ireland, et cetera, and the Dominions and Territories thereunto belonging" (1653 - 1658). |
