Featuring the only Lunar Series coins to utilise the traditional 25 mm aluminium-bronze coin - the same size as regular circulating coins, this is the fifth set in a Royal Australian Mint series, and is dedicated to the Chines Year of the Dragon.
The mint says about it:
"This 2024 $1 Uncirculated Two-Coin Set, celebrating the Year of the Dragon, is an auspicious and traditional gift or collectible for Lunar New Year. People born in the year of the Dragon are said to be confident, intelligent and ‘natural born leaders’. The set features the noble Dragon, amongst auspicious clouds, a symbol of lucky and good fortune; and the Chinese Lunar Calendar represented as a wheel."
This pair of Australian Lunar coins is housed on an auspicious red and gold card, and is limited to a mintage of 30,000 pieces. |
