This set contains seven coins issued to commemorate the 2018 Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast, Australia.

The 2018 Commonwealth Games, officially known as the XXI Commonwealth Games and also known as Gold Coast 2018, was an international multi-sport event for members of the Commonwealth that were held on the Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia, between 4 and 15 April 2018. It was the fifth time Australia had hosted the Commonwealth Games.

There are three coloured $2 coins, which were released into circulation in considerable numbers - as well as in this set, and four $1 coins which were supposed to be available in the set only. However, when the sets were not all sold, they were broken down and the coins from them put into circulation too.
