A tribute to the life and legacy of Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, this set includes a 1926 Sovereign, featuring George V’s portrait, which marks the year of Her Majesty’s birth, a 2022 Sovereign featuring Timothy Noad’s exclusive interpretation of the Royal Arms (issued to commemorate Queen Elizabeth II’s historic Platinum Jubilee), and a gold quarter ounce issued in memory of the late Queen. The coins in this set feature the effigies of three monarchs.
The mint says about it: "Many fondly remember Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II for her grace, dignity, humour and, above all, her devotion to duty. The Royal Mint is proud to have struck every official UK coin during Her Majesty’s reign and we now reflect on the extraordinary achievements of Britain’s longest-reigning monarch, commemorating her life and her legacy through beautifully crafted coins. Featuring coins commemorating some of Queen Elizabeth II’s most significant milestones, whilst marking the accession of His Majesty The King, these historic memorial coin sets pay tribute to Her Majesty’s remarkable life and reign.
Personally approved by the monarch, the first definitive coinage portrait of His Majesty The King features on the obverse of the 1/4oz Gold Proof Coin."
The 2022 sovereign is in bullion (Brilliant Uncirculated) grade, while the 1926 sovereign is Very Fine or better and is from a random branch mint (Pretoria, Perth, Sydney or Melbourne - no sovereigns were struck in London this year). |
