Twenty Senti, Coin Type from Estonia - detailed information

Twenty Senti, Coin Type from Estonia (issued 1992 - 2008)
Coin TypeTwenty Senti

The second Estonian kroon currency was introduced in 1992, after Estonia gained independence from the USSR. The kroon was subdivided into 100 cents (senti; singular sent). The twenty senti coin was a small circulating denomination.

The first two issues were in Aluminium-bronze, with composition of 93% copper, 5% aluminium and 2% nickel. This was then changed to nickel-plated steel for the issues from 1997 through to the last issue in 2008.

These coins circulated until 15 January 2011 when they were demonetised and replaced with the Euro, when Estonia joined the Euro currency.
