South Africa is one of the pioneers of modern bullion coinage. It started issuing its traditional gold Krugerrand in 1967, and has subsequently expanded that offering both in terms of sizes and metals, and in designs. The Krugerrand range is produced by Rand Refinery together with the South African Mint; the latter produced all other coinage of the country - including in the large five ounces (5oz) of gold format. | ||||
