Featuring a spectacular blue sapphire this 1 kilo silver gemstone edition is a limited offering from the Australian Lunar Silver Coin Series II and features the Year of the Dog design. 99.99% Pure Silver The coin is struck by The Perth Mint from 1 kilo of 99.99% pure silver. Sparkling Blue Sapphire The reverse of the coin depicts a coloured German shepherd dog and pup lying in grass with Chinese peony flowers in the background. The dog has a blue sapphire set into its eye. The Chinese character for ‘dog’ and the inscription ‘Year of the Dog’ also appear in the design with The Perth Mint’s traditional ‘P’ mintmark. Australian Legal Tender Issued as legal tender under the Australian Currency Act 1965, the coin's obverse depicts the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the 2018 year-date and the monetary denomination.
