To celebrate the 90th birthday of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, The Perth Mint is proud to release this commemorative silver proof high relief coin. Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II was born Princess Elizabeth Alexandra Mary at 2:40am on 21 April 1926, the eldest daughter, and first child, of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth. On 21 April 2016, Queen Elizabeth II celebrated her 90th birthday. Each Commonwealth country traditionally celebrates The Queen’s birthday on a designated day in May or June. In the United Kingdom, it falls on the first, second, or third Saturday in June, which was chosen for the fine weather in the northern hemisphere, making it a preferable time for a public holiday.
