This is the fourth coin in the Posters of World War I series which commemorates the work of the Young Men’s Christian Association (YMCA) who established the Snapshots from Home League of Australia in 1916, which aimed to raise the morale of those Australians serving in the First World War by supplying them with photographs of their loved ones at home. Proof Quality 99.9% Pure Silver Each coin is struck from 1oz of 99.9% pure silver in proof quality. Original World War I Poster Design The coin’s reverse features a coloured representation of the ‘Send them all snapshots from home’ poster headed by the inscription AUSTRALIAN HOME LEAGUE. The Perth Mint’s traditional ‘P’ mintmark, and the coin’s weight and fineness also appear in the design. Australian Legal Tender Issued as legal tender under the Australian Currency Act 1965, each coin features the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the monetary denomination, and the 2017 year-date on its obverse. Limited Mintage The Perth Mint will release no more than 5,000 of the Australian Posters of World War I – Australian Home League 2017 1oz Silver Proof Rectangle Coin.
