Silver Kilo 2021 Real Heroes - Firefighter, Coin from Cook Islands - detailed information

The obverse of the coin shows the crowned mature head of Queen Elizabeth II facing right (her effigy known as the "Fourth Portrait"). The Queen wears the "Girls of Great Britain and Ireland" diamond tiara, a wedding gift from Queen Mary (Her Majesty's grandmother) in 1947 - which she also has on the Machin and the Gottwald portraits.

In small letters below the head, the artist's initials IRB (for Ian Rank-Broadley).

Around the effigy is the monarch's legend, the date of issue and the value: ELIZABETH II 100 DOLLARS COOK ISLANDS 2021.

The effigy and legend are in a small circle in the lower part of the design. The upper part shows two firefighters in heavy protective gear holding a fire hose; in the background, the "Twin Towers" of the World Trade Center in New York.

Below, the inscription ONLY THE BRAVE ARE FREE.

The whole obverse is black.

The reverse design is coloured and shows a firefighter facing the viewer; his helmet is marked FIREFIGHTER 343 - the number 343 honouring the 343 firefighters who died on 11 September 2001 ("9/11") following the terrorist attack on the World Trade Center towers. Below that, FDNY, for the New York City Fire Department.

The background has a honeycomb pattern; in one of the hexagons on the left, the REAL HERO logo of the series.

In the rim around left, in tiny letters the motto WE RUSH IN WHEN OTHERS RUSH OUT.

Finish: black proof, coloured, smartminting (Ultra High Relief).
