Obverse

The obverse has at its centre a circle, in which is displayed the logo of the assayer: a hand holding a bunch of flowers, to the left of which a large letter H; around this, the inscription HERAEUS EDELMETALLE · HANAU ·.

The central rectangle is lower than the surrounding surface (the edges protrude significantly). The background is machined into a spiral "swirl" pattern.

Reverse

The reverse features at its centre the image of an ox, surrounded by a circle with a Chinese decorative pattern.

Above, on two lines the inscription 2021 YEAR OF THE OX.

On two lines below, the metal content 1 KILOGRAM 999 FINE SILVER.

The central rectangle protrudes out of the surrounding surface, matching the shape of the obverse so that multiple bars can be stacked on top of each other in an interlocking jigsaw-like pattern.
