Information about effigy: Portrait by Leonard Charles Wyon (Young crowned head)

Portrait by Leonard Charles Wyon (Young crowned head)

The effigy of Queen Victoria was re-designed by Leonard C. Wyon of the Royal Mint for 1876, showing a more mature and portly Queen Victoria wearing a diademed crown. Slightly different versions of this design were used throughout the British colonies (not in the United Kingdom itself) until her death in 1901.
