Information about legend: ELIZABETH II QUEEN OF GIBRALTAR

Gibraltar is a British Overseas Territory located at the southern tip of the Iberian Peninsula. As such, the British monarch is the Head of State of the territory. On coinage, the Queen's legend was originally rendered in Latin in the same form as on British coinage.

In 2010, the government of Gibraltar issued coinage using the title "Queen of Gibraltar". The title now appears on most Gibraltar and UK government documents referencing the Queen in relation to Gibraltar, which is the British Queen Elizabeth II.
