This is the "premium" version of the United Kingdom Proof Set of the year, including the regular circulating coins plus some of the commemorative coins issued throughout the year.
The 2022 set includes two commemoratives marking the Platinum Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II (70 years on the throne): a £5 (crown-sized) coin, and the first 50p coin marking a Royal event. There are also two commemorative £2 coins: Alexander Graham Bell and Dame Vera Lynn, and a 50p issued to mark the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham; these coins were only issued in the year's sets and not released into general circulation.
The rest of the coins in the set are all the regular circulating coins, from the definitive Britannia-type £2 down to 1p.
The coins are struck in Proof FDC grade with frosted finish. The set also contains a round Royal Mint medal and a numbered Certificate of Authenticity. |
