|Coin||Proof Medal 2022 - Premium|
Medals are a form of "exonumia" - objects related to coinage but not coins themselves. Such are, for example, the medals included in many Royal Mint proof sets. They do not have any "face value" and are not tokens either, but can still be of interest to coin collectors.
This medal, described as a "Base Proof Medal" on the Royal Mint's web site, was included with The 2022 United Kingdom Premium Proof Coin Set. Just like the coins in the set, it is in Proof grade.
Within a decorative rim, the obverse shows a stylised version of the logo of the royal Mint, which incorporates a crowned Shield of the Royal Coat of Arms of the United Kingdom.
There is no inscription.
Within a decorative rim, on two line at centre, the date of issue 2022. In microtext in the background, the names of the commemorative coins included in the set.
